Tales and Mysteries:

From your earliest years, you've been captivated by stories about Fables, Folklore and Urban Legends. They have woven through your life since your youth, whispers of the unexplained kindling the fires of your imagination. Some of the fables were quaint moral parables featuring anthropomorphic animals as the main characters: the wise old owl, the sly fox, the hardworking ant, the tortoise, and the hare, simple stories that imparted life lessons about topics like perseverance, honesty, and the consequences of laziness or greed.

The folklore stories tapped into your region's rich cultural heritage: heroic knights slaying mythical beasts, witches and fairies dwelling in enchanted forests, mischievous sprites and giants lurking in the hills and valleys. These fanciful yarns connected you to the traditions and superstitions of your ancestors. Hasn’t everyone heard of Big Foot?

But it was the urban legends that really fed your thirst for something darker and more mysterious lurking behind the mundane facade of everyday life. People in hushed voices warned of hauntings, cursed objects, ritual sacrifices, and deals with the devil. Bloody Mary in the mirror, Robert the doll, the Chupacabra, the hooked man, each one sent shivers down your spine or made the hair stand up on the back of your neck.

You never knew which stories contained a kernel of truth and which were pure fiction meant to get a rise. But that was part of the allure. With urban legends, the real and unreal commingled in tantalizing ways, blurring the line between myth and reality until you could never be quite certain what was possible...and what should remain relegated to nightmare.

Biography

How did John Goodman become an author? It all began with a vivid dream over a decade ago. During his formative years, he devoured National Geographic magazines and watched with fascination as his grandfather crafted houses from foundation to roof. Throughout his education, he immersed himself in engineering, architecture, astronomy, and photography always driven by an insatiable curiosity about how things worked.

This passion for discovery and understanding eventually found expression through writing. The Traveler series invites readers to explore thought-provoking possibilities that challenge conventional thinking. When not crafting narratives, John can be found exploring remote corners of the world, camera in hand, gathering inspiration for future stories.
